REGISTERING
A NEW DOMAIN:
Click REGISTER and enter your details on the
registration form that appears. We strongly recommend that you carry out a
search here on the domain you desire before you proceed to request such a new domain.
You can also use this site to register a new domain under some second levels of .mw such as
.co.mw, .org.mw etc by clicking REGISTER. You will be asked by
e-mail to confirm any request for a new domain. Confirmation is required.
For further details read the information that follows.

INVOICES:
An invoice is available online when your domain is due for renewal. You must login to view
and print the invoice. Once you login, just enter a search for your registered domain name
and click details if the search yields more than one result. You should find an invoice button
which leads to pages on invoices and how to make payments.

MODIFYING
A DOMAIN:
Only the corresponding Administrative Contact or the Technical Contact should modify a domain.
You need to login to submit a request to modify a domain through this
website. You can also submit a reguest for a domain modification by sending an e-mail
to the registrar@registrar.mw.
Once you login just, enter a search for your existing domain name and click details.
You should find an edit button. Complete the form that you get when you click edit and
submit it for processing.

DELETING
A DOMAIN:
Only the corresponding Administrative Contact should request deletion of a domain.
To delete an entry the Administrative Contact has to email the
registrar@registrar.mw. who will
subsequently do the deletion on your behalf.

BEING REQUESTED:
In the registration form, enter the .Mw domain name that you are requesting.
This site also handles registration for some second level domains including
.org.mw, .co.mw, .net.mw, .edu.mw, .ac.mw, etc

ORGANIZATION
INFORMATION
This is required in registering a new domain or modifying an existing domain.
In the registration form, enter the name of the entity or organization that is being represented
by the domain name being requested. This should be the name of the
organization that will be using the Domain Name.

DESCRIPTION
OF PLAN FOR THE DOMAIN:
This is required in registering a new domain or modifying an existing domain.
In the registration form, please describe in a sentence the intended use of the domain name
being requested for registration.

ADMINISTRATIVE
CONTACT
The Administrative Contact is the contact point for administrative and policy
questions about the domain. He/she must be an employee of the organisation/company
that owns the domain. This is a requirement for every domain.
In the registration form, type in the name of the person who will serve as the administrative
contact. This person must be from the organization that will be using
the domain name, not a person from the Internet Service Provider
(ISP) that hosts the domain.

TECHNICAL
CONTACT
The technical contact handles the technical aspects of maintaining the
domain's name server, resolver software, and database files. S/he
keeps the name server running. The person must
be knowledgeable and competent on technical issues, especially with the
Internet Domain Name System (DNS).This is a requirement for every domain.
In the registration form, type in the name of the person who will serve as the technical
contact. This person must have adequate access to the nameservers and will be responsible for
maintaining the zone files for the domain.

PRIMARY NAME
SERVER
The primary name server is the computer that runs the primary DNS services for the domain.
In the registration form, type in the complete host name and corresponding IP address of the
primary name server.The complete host name of the primary server as well as the IP address
are required. They must match. This site will assist you to check that they match.
Note:
The server must be up and running before submitting an application.
Domains must have at least two independent servers; primary and secondary, that provide
the DNS service for translating names to addresses for hosts in
this domain. Establishing the servers in physically separate locations
and on different physically separate networks is strongly
recommended in order to run a reliable service.

SECONDARY NAME SERVER
In the registration form, type in the complete host name and corresponding IP address of the
secondary name server.The complete host name of the secondary server as well as the correct
IP address are required. They must match. This site will assist you to check that they match.
Make sure the server is be up and running before submitting an application.

You may register a new domain under any of the following second levels by clicking
REGISTER and entering your details on the
registration form that appears.
ac.mw - recommended for academic institutions
co.mw - recommeneded for commercial organisations
com.mw - an alternative for commercial organisations
coop.mw - suitable for cooperative associations
edu.mw - suitable for degree granting academic institutions
gov.mw - restricted to government preferably Malawi Government
int.mw - suitable for international treaty organisations
museum.mw - for museums, historical, documentation or diplay organisations
net.mw - suitable for networking organisations
org.mw - suitable for non-profit making organisations
